From American
Limited:
1941
Pullman 442 sleeper, lot 6636, plan 4069-F, 19 cars purchased. All
cars were named for familiar places in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
Two or three were used in a typical consist, and they were used
until the mid 1950's. Two cars, Lakeside and Twin Peaks, were on
the COSF train that got stuck in the Sierra Nevada snow in 1952.
Complete kits will be released later this year with our improved
core kit, full decals for all cars, couplers and newly tooled trucks,
and drapery details. Ready to run models of several of these cars
are planned after the kit release, but the kits will allow more
car name and detail variation for modelers willing to build.
