Thrall
Lo-Pac 2000 5 unit Articulated Container Car

Rival Gunderson
had a hit with their Twinstack container car which used bulkheads to
hold containers as long as 48' in the upper position. In fact an early
design of Thrall's car used similar bulkheads. Then someone realised
that the same Inter-Box Connectors (IBC) that are used on ships could
be used to clamp containers together on trains and thus the Lo-Pac 2000
was born.
