After 1945, when German railroads
were under Allied administration, the best locomotives and cars
were requisitioned to transport service personnel of the occupying
powers. Members of the United States Transportation Corps (USTC),
responsible for maintaining locomotives in the Kassel area, brought
a part of an American railroad into their lives by decorating
a well preserved class 03.10 streamlined locomotive with paint
and lettering derived from teh Atlantic Coast Line Railroad.
The Minitrix USTC Train Set includes
one streamlined steam locomotive, two passenger cars and one sleeping
car. Special features: Locomotive comes with a plug-in socket
for a DCC decoder, headlights, front and rear, long distance American
headlight, close coupling between locomotive and tender, 4 axles
powered and 2 traction tires. Train length is 22½"
