This 50' steel side, 14 panel, fixed end gondola was built by Ortner Freight Car in Covington, Ohio in October 1965, and was serviced in October 1983. It is painted white with maroon and black lettering. The 2,500 cu ft capacity gon is classified GBS, indicating it is an open top car with fixed sides and ends suitable for mill trades. The ‘S’ designates it as modified or equipped for a specific commodity. Number WC 55077 rolls on Barber® roller bearing trucks. The Wisconsin Central was incorporated in 1871 to build a line from Neenah, Wisconsin to Lake Superior.
