This heavyweight depressed-center flat car was built in September 1940 and was painted Pennsylvania red with white lettering. These cars were designed to handle oversized loads, such as transformers and structural members, which were too tall to allow passage through standard tunnels. This 250,000 lb version requires 3-axle, 6-wheel Buckeye Trucks. These heavy-duty trucks are also used on high capacity gondolas, wrecking cranes and locomotive tenders.
