Heavyweight Depressed Center Flat Car w/6 wheel trucks
Part #MTL-109050 N Scale Supply Price: Sold out
New Release Date: July 2002

The Erie Lackawanna Railroad owned five of these heavyweight depressed-center flat cars. They were built by the Standard Steel Company of Butler, Pennsylvania in May 1929 and painted black with white lettering. The 275,000 lb capacity flat is equipped with 6-wheel Commonwealth trucks to provide a lower, more stable ride for heavier loads. The one-piece cast bodies of these trucks made them remarkably durable. The Erie Lackawanna railroad found its origins in the charter of the New York & Erie Railroad by the New York legislature in 1832.
