This black 89
tri-level open auto rack built by National Steel Car Company
in 1972 displays the CN logo on a large placard with white lettering
and runs on black Barber® Roller Bearing trucks. Open rack
cars such as this gradually became extinct due to the problems
with damage and vandalism while in transit. However, these cars
were greatly responsible for securing a vast amount of the automobile
delivery traffic that had been previously lost during the boxcar
era.
