This 89 bi-level
open auto rack is painted box car red with a gold B&O®
logo on the blue placard and was built in July 1970 by Bethlehem
Steel. The trailer displays Trailer Train reporting marks and
logo and ran on Barber® roller bearing trucks. Open rack
cars such as this, gradually became extinct due to the problems
with damage and vandalism while in transit. However, these cars
were greatly responsible for securing a vast amount of the automobile
delivery traffic that had been previously lost during the boxcar
era.
