This 89’ bi-level open auto rack consists of a PC green auto rack on a box car red Trailer Train flatcar with black and white Penn Central logo placard and white lettering, and runs on black Barber® Roller bearing trucks. Open rack cars such as this gradually became extinct due to the problems with damage and vandalism while in transit. However, these cars were greatly responsible for securing a vast amount of the automobile delivery traffic that had been previously lost during the boxcar era.
