This
30’ box car with single door is painted box car red, lettered in
white and bears the Montana Southern R’Y road name, also in white.
It runs on Barber Coleman Archbar trucks. #501 was built in 1899
by Peninsular Car Co. of Detroit, Michigan, a subsidiary of American
Car & Foundry. This 200-car order was delivered to Florence
& Cripple Creek Railroad. With the F&CC abandonment, Montana
Southern purchased at least five of these cars in 1918-1919 numbered
500, 501, 502, 504, and 505. |
