Rutland #100, built in August 1954, is a 40’ standard box with single door. In order to promote Rutland’s ‘Green Mountain Gateway Service’ the car was decorated in this scheme of yellow with green on the lower sides. The lettering is in contrasting yellow and green with white lettering on the ends. This unit is part of a 50-car lot purchased from Pullman-Standard, Bessemer, Alabama. These were the first new steel cars Rutland had purchased since 1924. This 100,000 lb capacity car is equipped with Youngstown doors and rolls on Bettendorf trucks.
