This box car red 40’ standard boxcar, single Youngstown door with logo and lettering in white and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. Headquartered in Havana, Cuba, The West India Fruit & Steamship Company, operated a railroad car ferry service between Palm Beach, Florida and Havana, Cuba during the Fulgencia Batista, pre-Fidel Castro times. The line was nationalized by Cuba in January 1, 1959. The cars herald utilizes one of the three different ship styles used by the West India Fruit & Steamship Company.
