This black 40’ standard box car, with single Youngstown door, has a large white ’NH’, lettering and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. Originally, #21991 was built by Pullman-Standard in October 1945 for the New York, New Haven & Hartford R.R., it was numbered into the #34500-35999 series. In the late 50s, with NH struggling with bankruptcy, cars were refurbished and renumbered, sold and leased back to the New Haven. Cars numbered in the #21700-22823 series were equipped with steel floor plates from bolster to bolster.
