Pennsylvania RR Road # 603125 40' Standard Box Car, Single Door Part #MTL-20780 N Scale Supply Price: Reprint Release Date: December 2000
This 40 standard box car with single door was built January 1951. In June 1954 it was repainted in Pennsys freight car red with white lettering on sides and ends. This class X43A box car was part of a 1500 car fleet on which the 1954 shadow keystone herald in white and black was applied. This 100,000 lb capacity box car rolled on Bettendorf trucks. The seeds of the Pennsylvania Railroad were planted as early as 1815 with the founding of the first of many small local and regional railroads that would later become part of this sprawling empire. |
