This 40’ standard box car with plug door and roofwalk is painted dark green with black ends and roof. It is lettered in white with white logo. ERDX #10060 is one of 100 cars leased by Merchants Despatch Transportation Company (MDTX) to the Eastern States Farmers Exchange. These cars were common in New England in the 1950s. This class RB reefer has a capacity of 84,000 pounds and was repainted at East Rochester, NY, in November 1958. Eastern States Farmers Exchange was one of many farmers cooperatives created to help farmers survive the Great Depression of the 1930s. It now serves as a marketing association for New England farmers.
