This 40' standard box car with plug and sliding doors was built by Union Pacific in April 1957 at Omaha, Nebraska. It is painted box car red with yellow markings. The 25-car fleet was constructed with mixed doors to make the 12-foot wide access more versatile. The 100,000 lb capacity cars were also fitted with Bettendorf trucks. The UP slogan from the 1930s and '40s, 'Serves All the West,' was replaced in 1947 with the one on this car, 'Be Specific'...'Ship Union Pacific.' Changes have been made to this release that more accuratley reflect the prototype.
