This 40 standard box car with double doors was built in February 1947. It is painte.d box car red with white lettering. The scheme includes the Cotton Belt Blue Streak Merchandise logo, which promises fast freight service. The SSW, usually called the Cotton Belt, was the principal subsidiary of Southern Pacific. The Cotton Belt nickname originated with a group of St. Louis merchants who were looking for an economical way to transport cotton from Texas. The SSW was included in the September 1996 merger of the SP into the UP.
