This 40’ standard box car with operating double doors is painted bright oxide red with white lettering. A departure from most of B&O’s freight cars which were primarily used to transport coal and painted traditional colors, this paint scheme continued into the 60s. This car runs on black Bettendorf trucks and illustrates a less common paint scheme whereby there is no ‘expedited freight services’ stenciled below the spelled out road name, “Baltimore & Ohio.”
