The Wabash had this 40 standard box car with double doors built in April 1960. It was painted box car red and lettered in white on sides and ends. WAB 8130 was part of a 300-car fleet which bore Wabashs Follow the Flag herald painted in white. These 3,892 cu ft, 100,000 lb capacity class XAB box cars were equipped with retractable auto loading racks. The capacity marks on the cars side are calculated with racks in position. (last released 1/86)This 40 standard box car with double doors is part of a 550-car fleet that was built in June 1953 for Canadian National. In July 1973, they were rebuilt for Duluth, Winnipeg & Pacific. The fleet was refitted with double doors at that time. DWC 582225 is painted box car red with white stenciling. The green doors identify it for special lading. These cars bore the DWC reporting marks until the change back to CN in January 1978. A CN subsidiary, the DWP was used for routing traffic from western Canada to the mid-western US. The line connected at Duluth, Minnesota carrying finished lumber. These cars provided lumber service until bulkhead and center beam flat cars were developed.
