This 40’ standard Box Car
with single Superior door and no roofwalk is painted hopper red with
dark red, white and black logo and white lettering. It was built in
May 1955 by MKT’s Dension shop and serviced in February 1967. It runs
on black Bettendorf trucks. MKT 6696 was acquired through a long-term
lease rather than through an installment purchase. In 1966 it was sold
and leased back to MKT. It was subsequently serviced and placed back
into the working fleet.
