This 50 rib side box car with
single operating Youngstown door and no roofwalk is painted box
car red with white logo and lettering. It was built in January 1951
and serviced in January 1980. It runs on black Barber® roller
bearing trucks. In 1888, the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie Railroad
was just passing its way through the new routes that the Lake Erie
Canal afforded them. Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Youngstown were
main routes at this time. The steel companies in this triangle became
excellent customers of this railroad. Thus the railroads slogan:
Serves the Steel Center. |
