These 50’ rib side box cars with plug doors and without roofwalks were built in October 1968 by Pacific Car & Foundry located, in Renton, WA. They are painted Great Northern Big Sky Blue with aluminum roofs and are lettered in white. Rocky, the GN icon, is also white. These cars are classified ‘XL’ identifying them as being specially equipped with Car Pac loaders (belt restraints) and Hydra-Cushion underframes. They have a 5,266 cu ft, 143,000 lb capacity and run on roller bearing trucks.
