Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Road # CB&Q 25402 40' Outside-Braced Box Car Single Door Part #MTL-28150 N Scale Supply Price: New Release Date: December 2000
This 40 outside braced box car with single door was part of a 500-unit CB&Q fleet. It was built in July 1928 and serviced in March 1955. The paint scheme includes a box car red body with white lettering on sides and ends. These 100,000 lb capacity Burlington class X28 box cars were able to accommodate a 2,926 cu ft load. Perhaps the most important event in CB&Qs history was the joint purchase on July 1, 1901 of 98 percent of its stock by Great Northern and Northern Pacific. James Hill, the owner of these roads, saw CB&Q as the connection he needed between St. Paul and Chicago, IL. |
