| This
red 40' outside-braced box car with 1-1/2 door and white lettering
runs on black Bettendorf trucks. This Katy car was built in March
1927 and was used to carry automobiles and/or parts. M-K-T 67007
included Bradford Gear, as marked on car sides. The Katy was a publicity
conscious railroad, at one time having staged construction races
and even head-on collisions (e.g. the famous Crash at Crush, Texas
in 1896). . |
