This 50’ standard box car with plug and sliding door was built in October 1964 and serviced in October 1970 at Acca, VA. At that time it was repainted in RF&P’s modern scheme of blue with silver doors and white lettering. The 4,952 cu ft, 142,000 lb capacity box car is equipped with Barber® roller bearing trucks. The RF&P began life in 1834 as a 113-mile short line between Richmond, VA and Washington, DC, linking north and south. Today, RF&P is part of CSX and its lines comprise part of CSX’s 19,000-mile rail network.
