This 40’ despatch stock car with single door was built in May 1928 by the Pennsylvania Car Company at Argentine, Kansas. It is painted box car red with white lettering. The on-the-hoof hauler has an 80,000 lb, 2,687 cu ft capacity and rolls on Bettendorf trucks. Five hundred of these class SK-R cars were built for AT&SF. The durable cars were used in livestock service and some were seen up into the 1960s.
