In July 1927 this 40’ outside braced box car with 1-1/2 doors and vertical brake wheel rolled out of the National Steel Car Corporation shop in Hamilton, Ontario. It was painted CN mineral brown and lettered in white. Canadian National assigned this 3,456 cu ft, 89,000 lb capacity car to automobile service. The CN Railways system was incorporated through the June 1919 merger of the Canadian Northern and Canadian Government railways. By 1923 the road had two transcontinental routes with branch lines from Moncton to Prince Rupert. Micro-Trains® originally released this car in August 1994 as #29070.
