Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Road # AT&SF 90822 50' flat car with straight side and side mount brake wheel Part #MTL-44060 N Scale Supply Price: Reprint Release Date: April 2001
The American Car & Foundry built this 50 flat car with straight side and side mount brake wheel in December 1929. It was painted box car red with white lettering. The class FT-P flat car has a 100,000 lb capacity and rolls on Bettendorf trucks. The ampersand in the road number hints at this cars age. After 1938, the railroad excluded that character from its road numbers. Santa Fe began life as a line following the Santa Fe Trail, assisting westward-bound immigrants. Symbolizing the frontier spirit, today the SF is still one of the worlds most popular railroads. |
