This 50’ flat car with fishbelly sides and side mount brake wheel was built in January 1947. When serviced in December 1972, it was painted in this Illinois Central Gulf orange with black stenciling. Number ICG 905126 is one of 272 class FM general-purpose flat cars with a 110,000 lb capacity and featuring a simple, straight deck and minimal load securing equipment. The Illinois Central and the Gulf, Mobile and Ohio railroads merged August 1972, creating the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, a wholly owned subsidiary of Illinois Central Industries.
