The American Car and Foundry built this 50' flat car with fishbelly sides and side mount brake wheel in March 1950. It is painted box car red with white lettering. The class F-70-7 flat is part of a 2,050-car fleet delivered to Southern Pacific. It has a 140,000 lb capacity and is equipped with Bettendorf trucks. The San Francisco, California based Southern Pacific operated over 11,000 miles of track from Chicago south to New Orleans and west to San Francisco and Portland. SP merged into Union Pacific in September 1996. (last released March 1977)
