American Car & Foundry built this 50’ flat car with fishbelly sides and side mount brake wheel in March 1956. It is painted box car red with the data stenciled in white. D&RGW 23019 was part of a 100-unit fleet of 100,000 lb capacity flat cars and is typical of class FM cars built with a simple, straight deck and minimal load securing equipment. This unit had an active life, working through five decades into the 1990s. The last release of this model was July 1975.
