This 40’ double-sheathed wood reefer with vertical brake wheel has yellow sides and box car red roof and ends. The colorful ad on the side, in red, white and blue, is part of an Old Dutch Cleanser campaign asserting that ‘Dutch Cleanser Chases Dirt!’ In the 1950s, the Wisconsin based, Cudahy Refrigerator Line commissioned the design and construction of these class RSM bunker reefers. They were equipped with beef rails and rigged to utilize chunk ice. Number CRLX 2954 has a 60,000 lb capacity and rolls on Bettendorf trucks.
