Final Release of this Paint Scheme
This 40’ double-sheathed wood reefer with vertical brake wheel was built from plans dated October 30, 1923. It is a 75,000 lb capacity car and rolls on Bettendorf trucks. F.B.X. 5301 is painted box car red with gray sides. The circular logo is in yellow, red and green and the billboard letters are in red with a green drop shadow. The image of the famous freedom fighter drawing his bow illustrates the beer’s slogan ‘hits the spot.’ Fontenelle Brewing Company, applied this colorful paint scheme to two cars only.
