The Railway Express Agency used this 52' 2" riveted steel express reefer with plug door for the rapid transport of perishables, express packages and mail. It was built in 1958 by General American and painted medium green with black underframe and lettering in white. The ‘modern’ REA logo (circa 1961-62) is rendered in red and white. Number 7215 is equipped with commonwealth BX trucks, built by General Steel Industries and designed for baggage and express cars in high-speed train service. One of the most significant features of this truck is the bolster swing hanger suspension, which dampens swinging and swaying movement.
