This 39’ single dome tank car is painted black with white lettering and logo, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. It was built in March 1925 by the Sinclair Refinery Co. of Kansas City, Missouri, and serviced March 1936. Formed from the assets of eleven small petroleum companies in 1916, Sinclair is one of the oldest continuous names in the oil business. Until creation of products pipelines, Sinclair owned the biggest tank car fleet in the oil industry, 4,234 cars in 1920 and 6,071 by 1946.
