Built in May 1958, this 39’ single dome tank car is painted Montana Rail Link blue with printing in white and red. The ‘Flying W’ emblem on the right side of the car is the symbol of MRL’s parent company, the Washington Corporation. This 7,865 gallon capacity, class ICC 103AW car was used by MRL in maintenance of way. By its class designation, MRL 100016 is barred from use in hauling flamable liquids or phosphoric acid. Its roller bearing trucks suggest it was used in high-speed non-interchange service.
