In August 1920, this 39’ single dome tank car rolled off the assembly line and went into service for Sterling Fuels. It was painted green with white logo and lettering. The 6,734 gallon/80,000 lb capacity tanker was non-pressurized, insulated, and equipped with heater coils. HJMX 6002 was part of a 51-car fleet of Champion Oils cars that operated through the 1960s, running on the Port Stanley Terminal Railway lines in Port Stanley, Ontario, Canada. This unit is one of two known survivors of that fleet, having been restored in August 1994 by the Jolliffe brothers of Canada.
