Part #MTL-65520 N Scale Supply Price: $
New Release Date: April 2001
This 39 single dome tank car was built in January 1923 and rigged with Bettendorf trucks. It is painted black with white lettering. The Shell logo is yellow on a red square. The 100,000 lb capacity car was serviced in March 1972. Worn stenciling on the prototype seems to indicate that it was originally used in California to haul liquid fertilizer. In the early 1970s, the tanker was sold to the Lake Whatcom Railway in Wickersham, Washington, where it resides to this day. It is parked near their engine house and serves as a stationary storage car, holding fuel for their locomotives.
