The Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad built this 40’ standard box car with single door, full ladders, and without roofwalk in 1949 at Topeka, Kansas as a class Bx-53 box car (complete with roofwalk). It was rebuilt in 1969, at which time the roofwalk was removed—but the ladders were not shortened. They painted it box car red with aluminum roof, white Youngstown door, and black & white markings. The white door designates this car for ‘Flour Loading Only.’ The 110,000 lb capacity box is equipped with Bettendorf trucks.
