This 3-Bay ACF center flow® covered hopper with elongated hatches was built in July 1973. It rolls on Barber® roller bearing trucks and is equipped with pneumatic outlets. In July 1997 it was repainted box car red with white lettering on sides and ends. The new BNSF logo was applied in white with ‘car-color’ letters. These class G-183 hoppers were designed to minimize voids (empty spaces) in fully loaded cars. The interior is smooth with no ledges or corners where lading might collect. There is no center sill, allowing the contents to flow without obstruction. The outlets are placed on the car’s centerline so the cargo may be emptied between the rails.
