These covered hoppers were built for Chicago & North Western in August of 1940 by General American Transportation from an ACF design. There were 60 cars in the order and all were given odd road numbers. All of the cars were delivered with "Chicago & North Western" spelled out across the sides along with the familiar circle and bar logo, but over the years as the cars were shoped, the name began to disappear from the fleet leaving only the logo. This scheme is represented by one car in the 3-pack. These cars can still be seen in MOW service.
