Prototype Information — |
The C30-7 was a follow up to GE's successful U30C locomotive
design. Built between 1976 and 1986, the C30-7's production numbers were nearly
double that of the U30C, with the locomotive seeing use on numerous railroads
both in North America and Europe. With design changes including larger, more prominent
radiators and a "step"-like structure to the fore of the radiators
which gave the long hood a subtly different shape to its predecessor. |
