Kato has received a number of reports of melted roofs resulting from the use of the 11-204 / 11-206 Passenger Car Lighting Kits with DCC.

NOTE THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE LIGHTING KITS CLEARLY STATE A MAXIMUM OPERATING VOLTAGE OF 12 VOLTS DC.

Since DCC operates at a higher voltage and is an AC waveform these lighting kits should not be used on DCC without adding lighting decoders or circuitry which will provide voltage within specs for these units. Proper installation and use of these lighting kits has not resulted in any reports of problems before the advent of DCC; therefore no warranty consideration will be entertained for such damage. If available, decorated or undecorated parts may be purchased per Kato USA's normal policies for sale of body shells.
