| This 40’ standard
box car with single door is orange with green lettering and runs
on Bettendorf trucks. Built in the late 1940s this car was serviced
and repainted for Maine Central in May of 1963. Maine Central was
the largest Class 1 railroad in New England by the late 1880s, and
continued to serve the region as an independent road until 1981,
when it was rolled into Pan Am Railways. |
