This
40’ standard box car with single door is black and green with
white lettering and runs on Bettendorf trucks. As a part of NYC
series 87222-87271, this appliance boxcar was specially equipped
with SL load restraints. Built in 1956, it was among one of the
last 40’ box cars built for NYC as railroads moved to larger,
higher capacity cars in the 1960s.
