This 40’ standard box car with single door and Bettendorf trucks was built by Dispatch Shops in 1945 as part of series 162000-163999. Overhauled and repainted by the Beach Grove Shops in 1959, 162444 was repainted with Jade green sides, black ends and roof and received the large NYC oval logo.
