This
40’ standard box car with single Superior door is painted box car red with white
lettering and logo. It was built in October 1957 by Pullman Standard and serviced
in September 1968. It runs on black Bettendorf trucks. B&O had two groups
of cars built for its “Time Saver Service.” The first group was a 600 car fleet
(series 470000-470599) built by ACF and classed M-66. This car represents
the second group B&O of 400 cars built by Pullman Standard. The Time Saver
Service is how B&O promoted their high speed scheduled LCL (less than car
load) freight service. |
