This
40’ standard box car with single Youngtown door and roofwalk is
painted B&O Post War Oxide with white “13 Great
States Capitol Dome” logo and lettering and runs on black Bettendorf
trucks. B&Os 1000 M-55 class cars, numbered into series 467000-467999,
were based on a 1944 AAR design. They were built by Pressed Steel
Car Co. in 1947 and painted in the “B&Os post-war oxide red”,
common through the 1950s.
