This
40’ standard box car with single sliding door is painted dark
brown with black ends and white logo and lettering. It was one
of 50 Pullman-Standard box cars built in October 1957 for the
Central Railroad Company of New Jersey. This car runs on Bettendorf
trucks. Some of the cars from this series received damage-free
(DF) load-restraining equipment. Most of the cars survived to
see the Conrail merger in 1976 and some years beyond.
