This
40’ Standard Box Car with single door is painted dark blue with
black ends, yellow band and
large yellow herald. It was serviced in August, 1957 and runs
on Bettendorf trucks. The C&O was
a Class I railroad formed in 1869. In 1972, it became part of
the Chessie System, along with the
Baltimore & Ohio and Western Maryland Railway. It was later
combined with the Seaboard Coast
Line and Louisville and Nashville, to become a key portion of
CSX Transportation in the 1980s.
